Chandeliers

A chandelier is a complex, decorated pendant lamp with an extravagant shape. It often receives admiring glances from visitors as it usually serves as an eye-catcher. The lamp's shape can be constructed from several arches/arms but it can also have a closed shape.

The Art Nouveau or Jugendstil chandelier is frivolous and capricious. It is usually based on natural shapes. Mouth-blown glass lampshades, usually shaped like flowers, adorn a gold/bronze, winding fitting. Chandeliers based on the rich Jugendstil movement often show organic ornaments. The Unica chandelier is a good example of such a lamp from our collection. This handmade lamp is constructed from castings that were made by pouring liquid bronze into moulds. These curvilinear parts are then cut and polished. It is also possible to have the bronze ornament plated with nickel. The Wissmann chandelier also deserves a little extra attention as the model displays bent glass which is enclosed by handmade, metal frames. It is simply unforgettable!

The Tiffany chandeliers display natural shapes as well. Beautiful pieces of glass are ingeniously combined with the winding metal of the fixture which is usually plant-shaped.
